I love the French Islands Rum as it is so individual, like wines, depending upon which plantation it comes from. But these are difficult to buy in Europe. The old Cuban Rums like Methuselah are now long gone, unfortunately.
And now boutique Rums are invading and yes, some are excellent but highly over priced.
But at the same time is one Rum that has always stood out and weathered the years, since 1703 and that is Mount Gay.
If you seek a cocktail circuit fashionable libation go elsewhere. If you seek the spirit of the Caribbean try Black Barrel!via idealo
